Hey! I'm Sophia. I'm currently a macroeconomist at Bridgewater, where I trade sovereign bonds and think about central bank plumbing. Previously I was briefly in venture capital at Fasanara and a policy economist in the Ministry of Trade and Industry. I also have a degree in economics from Cambridge.
I love stories - those we tell each other and those we tell ourselves. Economics to me feels like storytelling at scale, where I get to prod at the sum of individual narratives and incentives.
At this point in my life I am optimising for novelty - I am building a retro electronics product, I have travelled across state lines to watch a robot death battle, and am attempting to make a bag from scratch. I have dabbled to varying degrees of success in wood-carving, crocheting, quilting and sewing, knitting and making silly crayon drawings with my friends.
